Becoming a goaltender in the NHL is the only thing I ever wanted for myself.
Two years ago, I was the best goalie in the league, for the third time. With our Stanley Cup win, the Austin Arrows were on top of the world. Nothing could possibly bring us down.
Turns out, even when you’re at the top, you can find yourself back at rock bottom.
But it gets worse.
Not only did the team fall from grace, then I did too. I was accused of something I didn’t do. And now I’m being forced to repair my tarnished reputation.
Only I don’t know how to do that.
When the suggestion is made for me to pull off this ruse for the media, I know what I’m getting into. I also know there’s only one right answer.
But it’s complicated, and I’m not the only one who could get hurt.
There’s only one major problem.
I can’t say no.
I have to say I hadn’t really considered mountain climbing before meeting Kingston “Mount Rushmore” Rush. However, I will admit that is one mountain of a man I wouldn’t mind trying to climb. Now add to the mix that he’s a goalie in the NHL and the hotness factor is climbing even higher. Then we meet Ellie, single mom and sister to Kingston’s best friend, Spencer. Between her quick wit and sassy comebacks and the undeniable chemistry between her and Kingston, the hotness thermometer explodes! In order to help repair Kingston’s reputation and fan image, he needs Ellie’s help. “Let him kinkify you.” That comment by Ellie’s best friend, Noelle literally made me laugh out loud. And I agree with her…what harm could come from a little kinkifying? And what happens when pretend starts to feel more like reality than anyone expected? Nicole Edwards has shut out the competition with this book. I love her writing style and ability to pull you in without even knowing it. The fact that she also has the actual sport of hockey as a main part of the story-line is a huge plus for me.
I give The Season: Rush 5 stars. I can’t wait to read more of this
*The Season: RUSH is a full-length, standalone novel
